Team TaylorMade's WITB: Nedbank Golf Challenge

Yes, golf fans, it’s the penultimate event of the season which means we’re one step closer to the Race to Dubai final! With plenty of points to play for this week at the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player, this event is not to be overlooked and Team TaylorMade are right in the mix.

One key difference this week is the position of the course. Optimising performance and consistency of distance is important as on average the ball is flying 10% further than what the players are used to due to the temperature and altitude. Looking at player’s equipment to see how they strike the ball is important, if the ball flight isn’t high enough then the ball will fall out of the sky.

Having claimed three top five finishes in his last four starts he’s eager to clinch a third title this season.

If there is no tour truck, how does equipment get altered? Improvisation!

With many requests to check loft and lies and various re grips, there’s only one place to go in Sun City - #DavesVan. If you know you know, a legend in South Africa! Speaking to Sam on this he said ‘"ne stand out note was when I was bending a player’s 5 wood on the van and had to have a few guys help to hold the blocks in place!”
